Dear Bill,
A happy new year. Here is another new sea slug for me. I think that it is a species of Gastropteron from the form of its simple siphon.

Amami Ooshima Islands, Kagoshima, Japan.
Size: approx 5mm
depth: 1 m
temperature: 22 C
date: 4 Jan 2004

Best Regards,

Dear Jun,
I agree that this looks like a species of Gastropteron but I don't recognise the colour pattern. I am sure I have seen this species before but after a look through my photo collection and books I can't find anything similar. Perhaps someone will recognise it for us
Best wishes
Bill Rudman
