Phidiana militaris from the Philippines

Hi All,

This photo was taken in the Philippines. I was asked to identify it but I was not immediately familiar with this species. When I started to ID it, I found that it most resembled Phidiana militaris, however, the location was off. Any comments?

Locality: Puerta Galera, Philippines, Philippine Sea

Part of the job of  Forum participants is to discover new locations for species. Phidiana militaris has been found in various places along the northern Indian Ocean coast and around to Hong Kong, so your find in the Philippines is not a problem - it is an interesting addition to our knowledge.
