Concerning message #22194:

Dear Bill,

In Réunion Island we found some specimens of Bornella with this characteristic colour pattern. Do you think that it could be specimen of B. pele?

Reunion Island, Indian Ocean. Length: less 20 mm

Bests regards

Dear Philibert,

This is indeed Bornella pele. Combined with your other message [#22196] and Sully Bachel's [#22188] on Bornella johnsonorum at Reunion Island, we now know that these two recently described species extend from the western Pacific right across to the western Indian Ocean.  It is a valuable increase in our knowledge of the genus

Best wishes,
Bill Rudman
