Dear Dr.Bill,
We thought this animal was Phidiana bourailli. Please tell us your opinion.
The largest we have seen was 8 mm in length.

Locality: LauLau Beach, 7 m, Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands, Pacific Ocean, 14 March 2009, under the dead coral. Length: 4 mm. Photographer: Ryoji Tamaki.

Dear Yuji,

Yes this looks like Phidiana bourailli (Risbec, 1928), but as I say on the Fact Sheet, it is possible that it and Phidiana semidecora (Pease, 1860), and P. anulifera (Baba, 1949) are colour forms of one species.
