Nembrotha from Philippines

July 26, 2000
From: Erwin Koehler

Dear Bill,
This one is from the Philippines, Cebu Is., divesite "Lilli's Hideaway", March 2000, depth 19 m, size approx. 5 cm. Photo by Fred Vogt.

I think it looks like Nembrotha mullineri, but the red spots at the head and and the tail are confusing me.

Fred writes this one was interested in ascidians - if it was feeding on it or not - he didn't like to swear..

Thanks Erwin,
I am pretty sure this is a species of Nembrotha, and the association with the ascidian is certainly an indicator, if not conclusive evidence.

I don't think this species has been named as yet.

Best wishes,
Bill Rudman.
