2nd International Workshop on Opisthobranchia

The 2nd International Workshop on Opisthobranchia (Gastropoda) will be held in September this year at the Zoologisches Forschungsmuseum Alexander Koenig. Major topic is the phylogeny of the Opisthobranchia (Gastropoda) and how we relate consisting hypotheses to our knowledge on all kinds of biological phenomena (including behaviour, biochemistry, physiology etc.) observed and described.

I was asked whether I intend to publish the contributions of the 2nd International Workshop in a special edition, or journal. Yes I do. The Museum in Bonn has an own journal, called "Bonner zoologische Beitraege". Sorry to say, that it has not the impact factor of Science or Nature. There will be a special volume covering only the contributions of the IWO in September. There will be a strict deadline for submitting the manuscripts, and this will be the 31st of December 2006. I do not intend to wait for contributions, so that there will be no unnecessary delay for getting the results published (intended is the forth and last volume in 2007!!!). There will be 50 free reprints, and you do not have any costs for publication (except you intend to publish colour plates).
