Alien in my tank

January 15, 2003
From: Anders Olausson

Hi.
I have this unidentified thing in my tank.
It´s about 8-10cm and very fast moving. It´s doesn't appear to like lights, as soon as the lights go on the slug (or what it is) disappears.

Pleas help me to identify.

Dear Anders,
This is a species of Chiton. Have a look at Dee Ryden's message. There is a very similar looking chiton discussed there.
Best wishes,
