Dear Bill
In connection with the message I sent about another white Glossodoris, here are shots of what I think are Glossodoris sp. 4. All three were found on 17 March 2002 off Pumula, KwaZulu-Natal at a depth of approximately 42m by Mike Fraser and Martin Wallace.
Upper Right - L: 42 mm
Lower Left - L: 20 mm
Lower Right - L: 50 mm

All the best
Lindsay

Thanks Lindsay,
These photos show parts of the colour pattern which were not clear in the earlier photos we have of this species.

Glossodoris? from South Africa

November 10, 1999
From: Valda Fraser

Dear Bill

I would like to know whether this Glossodoris sp has been named.  It is found very commonly on our coast.  This is a huge specimen.  Normally they are half this size.

Locality: South Coast KwaZulu/Natal - SOUTH AFRICA. Near Port Shepstone, Rocky reef, 15 m, October 1999, 40mm long.

I have found it in Gosliner, T. 1987 NUDIBRANCHS OF SOUTHERN AFRICA. Sea Challengers, page 85, specimen 137 Glossodoris sp 4.

Thanks.

Dear Valda,
I'm pretty sure Terry hasn't described this species as yet. He has reviewed the species of Chromodoris from his book (Gosliner, 1994), but like all of us I am sure he has a backlog of interesting things still to get to.
