This is a very comprehensive compendium of the opisthobranch species of the Indo-West Pacific for which there are photos of the living animals. I have not attempted to count them all, but the cover tells us there are 1,397 species with accompanying descriptions of their distinctive characters, natural history and geographic distributions. Unfortunately for many species we know little about their natural history, but hopefully books like this will spark the interest of divers, beachcombers, holiday goers and others interested in their natural environment, and lead to further new information.

Over many years I have been continually amazed at new and crazily shaped animals arriving at the Sea Slug Forum. As further new species in this book show, the age of discovery is by no means ended.

Congratulations to the authors. This is a book which everyone with even a passing interest in sea slugs should consider for their library

I have only one note of disquiet - the photo of Terry, Dave and Angel on the inside front cover. As a student of nudibranchs, I am used to gaudy - but those shirts!

Some of you will have been aware of the problems I have been having editing parts of the Forum over the last year. One regrettable consequence has been that I have been unable to add book reviews. Happily that is now resolved so I am able to post today a short review on Gosliner, Behren's and Valdes' very comprehensive Indo-Pacific Nudibranchs and Sea Slugs.

I am sorry I could not alert you to this valuable addition to all our libraries before now.
