Dear Dr. Rudman,
This nudibranch, which I believe is your Tritoniid sp. 8 was seen on Nov 19 2003 at 20 meters on the El Dorado House Reef [dive guide Ricco], Dumaguette, Philippines, as photographed. Site was interspersed with various coral outcrops on volcanic sand.
The creature was approx 30/40 mm in length

Tritoniid sp 8 is now got a name. It is Tritonia bollandi, which as you'll see in a message I am posting today [#12283] is a uniform translucent white or orange colour with an opaque white line around the mantle edge. Your animal also has more finely divided gills and oral veil papillae, and has a symmetrical pattern of light and dark patches and diagonal bands.
Marshall & Willan (1999) record this animal from the Great Barrier Reef as Tritonia sp 1. I will call it 'Tritoniid sp 9' on the Forum.
