DISTRIBUTION

Atlantic coast of nthn Spain to Mediterranean (Sardinia).

The mantle is translucent yellowish with scattered darker spots. There is a white line around the edge of the raised gill pocket. Anteriorly, the white line runs some distance forward along the midline of the mantle. The mantle is covered in small globose tubercles, each with a ring of spicules around the base. The colour and spiculate tubercles give it the appearance of the sponge Hymeniacidon sanguinea on which it feeds. The penis is armed with small spines, The simply hamate radular teeth are arranged in wide rows. [radular formula of holotype 76 x (95-110)-0- (110-95}].
