Hi Bill,
Here is a pair of Volvatella angeliniana found at Enewetak Atoll, Marshall Islands. These were found under a rock on an intertidal reef at low tide. When disturbed, they secreted a milky substance.
Locality: Enewetak Island, Enewetak Atoll, Republic of the Marshall Islands.
Depth: 15 cm depth at low tide. Length: 7 x 2.5mm. 3 July 1981. Under rock on hard substrate. Photographer: Scott Johnson

Johnson, S., 2005 (Sep 22) Volvatella angeliniana from the Marshall Islands. [Message in] Sea Slug Forum. Australian Museum, Sydney. Available from http://www.seaslugforum.net/find/14813Thanks Scott,
Nice to see specimens with the full colour pattern, as described in the original description .... and I must remember to use your photo when I prepare a page on gland secretions in the sacoglossans. Another point of interest is the shape of the shell in the animal in the right of your photo. It is much more inflated than the more slender shell of the other specimen, and the shell in Ichihawa's illustration and my animal from New Caledonia. I suspect the shell changes shape as the animal's grow, such as in Volvatella vigourouxi [see message #7456], which would make shell shape in this genus an even more impossible character.
Best wishes,
Bill Rudman
