Dear Bill and Daniel,
Elysia sp.12 looks almost identical to Pease's Elysia nigropunctata described and illustrated as Pterogasteron nigropunctatus from Tahiti. It would be very nice if this species could be re-identified and redescribed as Pease did not examine any anatomical features.

Thanks Kathe,
I've included a scan of Andrew Garrett's paintings which accompanied Pease's description. [Pease, 1871: Plate 22, figs 2a-d].

It certainly looks very similar, but I wonder how important the faint orange marks on the parapodial border in Daniel's photo are. It also looks quite like Elysia sp. 11 Clearly there are many puzzles still to untangle amongst the sacoglossans.
Best wishes,
Bill Rudman

Dear Daniel,
I am calling this Elysia sp. 12. If we are lucky and someone recognises it, this can be its temporary name.
Best wishes,
Bill Rudman
